I’ve been so stirred during this season with how truly simple the gospel is, and how unfortunate it is that only a very small percentage of believers is actively sharing Love Himself with those around them, with a world that is doing everything it can to manufacture this Love - and failing - because it has never been introduced to the real thing. We’re SO equipped to share Jesus, you guys! Those of us who’ve grown up in the American church especially are oversaturated with information about Jesus that rarely moves from the theoretical to the activation/application stage - it’s time to strap on our shoes of Peace of the Gospel of readiness and step out in FAITH, knowing that everywhere the soles of our feet tread, the Kingdom of Heaven IS ushered in and lives ARE transformed. To that end, I want to invite you guys to take #theprojectlove challenge!!!! It is a 30-day challenge with the purpose of demystifying evangelism and a missional lifestyle. It’s a beautiful invitation to daily walk in love, intentionally displaying the supreme care and compassion of the only uncreated God, to love our communities, to display honor and affection toward those who may despise us and treat us wrongfully, and to see every moment from Heaven’s perspective and every heart a potential home for Life itself.

I refuse to be one who says “Did God really say…?” simply because times get tough. He speaks, we listen, and like Noah, we will be a generation of faith-filled believers that says YES and AMEN to every word He utters. Even if we have to wait 100 years for the Lord to send the rain. We’ve come too far to turn back now…

God is God and He does not lie. His character is PERFECT. A firm foundation. That which anchors our soul. Perfect Truth. A Promise we can take to the bank. Let’s rise up with FULL FAITH, that does not bend or waver simply because it’s being pressed!

You see that?? Breathe those words in. Allow that imagery to sink in…

That is the essence of how the Lord feels about us, His creation. Made in His image. We, I, look like God. The only uncreated God, ruler of the universe. And He loves me. He delights in me. He dances WILDLY over me with loud singing. What the flip?!?!

He created me for Himself. To share in the perfect, unconditional, mutually beneficial love that the Trinity has for itself. To display His characteristics and attributes in a way that no one else can. I was crafted uniquely in Him, with all my likes and dislikes, passions and desires. And like Rembrandt or Picasso, He steps back from me, His handiwork, and nods approvingly - “it’s GOOD.”

I have the affection and approval of the King of every king. He says that I am without flaw or blemish. Right here, right now. And yet He breathes life into my lungs and continues to transform me more and more into the likeness of the One who He already sees superimposed on my being. What a love! To be fully known - the good, the bad, and the ugly - and yet fully, unabashedly, unendingly adored!

It’s my delight to serve a happy God

who won’t let go of me

because His heart is

ravished by

the weakest glance from me

And so now I’m free to love. Free to receive without question or flat out rejection due to false humility, insecurity, or feeling unworthy. Free to explore what it means to be this poema of God, to discover what makes my heart beat faster, what makes my soul sing and my spirit soar. Because this journey of being His is just as much an act of worship as singing in church. It’s a life laid down, a fragrant offering, to discover and flesh out what relationship with the God-man Jesus Christ really looks like. It is wild and weighty. And anything but textbook.

Here’s to the adventure.

Enjoyed reading your testimony. Been to Saddleback Church once before. I believe it was for a Shane & Shane event. Anyways, praise God for always pursuing us, even when we don't pursue Him. :)
